Coombs Veterinary Hospital uses digital technology to take Radiographs (X-Rays).
Digital Radiology is one of the biggest progresses in Veterinary medicine in the last ten years.
The dangerous chemicals used in older x-ray machines are not required. It also is much quicker than traditional film radiology as well images are immediately transferred to a monitor and can be viewed instantly, which requires less time with the patient on the radiology table and, therefore, less stress to the patient. The images are sharper, more detailed, and can be magnified, focused, and have the contrast adjusted directly on screen to enable the clinician to view areas with increased detail. A further advantage is it allows your veterinarian to very quickly and easily send radiographs to a Board Certified Radiologist for referrals, when recommended.
