Shae grew up in North Vancouver B.C. which helped her develop her crazy passion for outdoor adventures and wildlife. In 2015, She moved to Seattle to complete her bachelors in Marine and Conservation Biology and to play Division 1 Volleyball. After graduation, she moved to Thailand for sixmonths to intern with an Elephant Reintegration program, “GVI Chaing Mai,” which turned into a staff position allowing her to take, input and analyze data while being a mentor for volunteers in the program. She was also an English teacher for a grade 2-3 class during her time in Thailand. After returning home, she decided to take a step away from her natural habitat in data collection and analysis and pursue her other passions in veterinary medicine and wildlife rehabilitation. She moved to Merville, on Vancouver Island, to do a work-experience program with “MARS Wildlife Rescue Center” where she stayed for 3.5 months developing skills in animal restraint, handling and treatment. She has a love for working in rehabilitation and hopes to work with exotic pets and wildlife in the future. She is very excited to be a part of the Coombs Veterinary team as she wants to continue to bolster her skill-set in a small animal practice and continue her education in veterinary medicine. In her free time you can find her hiking, biking or doing any outdoor adventure. She also loves to socialize and can’t wait to meet new people in the area!
