Karisa was born in Salmon Arm B.C. and began living the island life in 2018. In January of 2019, she started volunteering at our clinic. She has cared for an abundance of animal all her life from puppies and kittens to turtles and axolotls. She adores all animals and critters, big and small. Both her Grandma and mom worked at vet clinics, her grandma also volunteered at an SPCA for many years. Following in their footsteps she has since been working towards obtaining a career involving helping and saving animals. All the stories, both happy and sad, of the lovable animals her family has helped over the years pushed her ambition further to peruse this career. In her words, "This is not just a job. I have a passion for animals, this is my dream job and long-term career goal". She is eager to learn and grow her skill set and abilities while utilizing her experience and knowledge to help our patients to the best of her ability. Karisa is excited to be a part of this clinic and looks forward to meeting all our patients.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, exploring new areas, reading, cooking, visiting with friends/family and tending to her gardens.
