Karisa was born in Salmon Arm B.C., and began living the Island life in 2018. In January of 2019, she started volunteering at our clinic. She has cared for an abundance of animals all her life from puppies and kittens, to turtles and axolotls. She adores all animals and critters, big and small.
Both her Mother and Grand-Mother worked in vet clinics, and had many years of experience volunteering with the SPCA. Following in their footsteps she has been working towards a career in which she can help to save animals. All the stories, both happy and sad, of the lovable animals her family has helped over the years pushed her toward the Veterinary field. In her words, "This is not just a job. I have a passion for animals, this is my dream job and long-term career goal".
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, exploring new areas, reading, cooking, visiting with friends/family and tending to her gardens.
