About Us

The i-Care team prides ourselves on the compassionate and friendly atmosphere that we have created within our clinic. We know that visits to the veterinary hospital can be stressful, especially when your animal is sick, and we try to minimize this stress as much as possible. We are a locally owned clinic that strives to deliver a caring and personalized experience for both our clients and patients.

Primary Care Veterinary Services

Annual Wellness Exams

These are one of the most important services we can provide, as they allow us to discuss healthy habits, preventative care, and to detect early signs of disease.

Vaccinations

Keeping your pet up to date on vaccines is important to keep them happy and healthy, as well as to protect your human family, and others in the community.

Parasite Control

The mild climate on Vancouver Island makes internal and external parasite control necessary all year round. Keeping your animal “bug” free helps both their health and yours.

Wellness Surgeries

We offer Spays, Neuters, and Dental COHAT procedures for dogs and cats. All ‘routine’ procedures are performed with safety and compassion in mind.

Urgent Care Veterinary Services

Urgent Exams

We have one vet everyday working exclusively with acute issues such as ear infections, lameness, or upset stomachs. These appointments are subject to availability (and fill quickly!)

Urgent Diagnostics

We have a full Idexx laboratory to perform blood, urine, and fecal analysis as needed. We can also perform x-rays, ultrasounds, endoscopy, and digital cytology in-house.

Urgent Surgery

An exploratory laparotomy may be indicated for many situations, such as foreign body ingestion, bladder stones, or systemic infection.

Working with your Vet!

Our local community of vet clinics works together to make sure all animals can be assessed quickly when needed. If we see you for an urgent issue, all records will be returned to your primary care vet to ensure continuity of care.

Referral Services

Referral Diagnostics

Ultrasound, Endoscopy, and Digital Cytology

Referral Surgery

Orthopedic, Soft tissue, and Minimally invaisive

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm

Saturday and Sunday: 8am – 5pm

Please Note

Due to the increasing demand and the need for urgent care, we are experiencing delays in accommodating wellness requests. To continue serving our community, we will be accepting new clients on an as-needed basis, such as those who have recently moved to the area and do not have a regular veterinarian or those with urgent matters that cannot be addressed by their current vet in a timely manner. As we expand our services and welcome two new veterinarians to our team, we aim to reduce the wait times for wellness exams by early summer.

SULLIVAN

This little man came to us for lethargy, inappetance, and vomiting. After many diagnostics, he was referred to WAVES Vet for specialty surgery to treat a biliary mucocele (blocked gallbladder). He had a long hospital stay, but is now recovering and has returned to the cutest ball of fluff you have ever seen!
